Necessary information about medical assistance scheme
At present many types of schemes have been launched and are functioning by the government which provide financial assistance to the common man, including old age assistance scheme, widow assistance scheme, family assistance scheme, scholarship assistance scheme for students, education assistance scheme etc. Schemes are implemented and the needy people are benefiting from each of these schemes. Here is the necessary information about one such financial assistance scheme which is named as Vedic Sahay Yojana i.e. Medical Assistance Yojana.

Main objective of the scheme
The main objective of the medical aid scheme is to provide financial support to all patients who are currently under medical treatment, who are suffering from serious diseases such as TB, leukemia, cancer, jaundice and whose medical treatment is ongoing, by Govt. is paid and under this scheme money is paid directly to each patient who is under medical treatment to get nutritious food for eating every month directly into their bank account as per certain statutory norms.
How much assistance is eligible?
To the patients who are currently undergoing medical treatment under the Medical Assistance Scheme, the Government pays monthly financial assistance directly to their bank accounts for various diseases which are as follows
1.Medical assistance amount to TB patient
At present, all the patients who are under direct treatment in the state of Gujarat are required to fill the form providing the necessary documents under the Medical Aid Scheme and each such patient is provided with financial assistance of ₹500 per month directly in their bank account under the Medical Aid Scheme. Yes, this assistance is admissible to the TB patient as long as his treatment continues and when the patient is cured and his TB treatment is completed, the amount will be stopped by the Government.
2.Medical assistance amount of leprosy patient
The post-disease, formerly known as leprosy in earlier times, is very serious and once contracted it cannot be cured for a long time and the patient needs to be treated with medication for a long time. At present the number of such patients is very less but in some places such patients are still found and they are given free treatment under direct treatment according to the rule of Sarkarshree. Every such patient is provided financial assistance of Rs 800 per month directly in their bank account under this scheme i.e. Vediciya Sahay Yojana by filling the form of Medical Aid Yojana.
3.Cancer Disease Medical Assistance Amount
It is to be mentioned here that under this scheme i.e. medical aid scheme, all the patients suffering from cancer disease whose form is filled will be provided financial assistance of Rs.1000 per month directly in their bank account till the time of their cancer treatment. As long as the cancer patient continues his treatment, he will be entitled to receive this money from the Government and when the treatment is completed and the patient is cured, this assistance will be stopped (by order of the Government).
Information on medical assistance scheme
All the patients belonging to any religion and any caste belonging to the state of Gujarat who are suffering from serious diseases like TB leprosy and cancer and are currently undergoing treatment are eligible for this medical assistance scheme. It is required to be done and after depositing the document, filling the form and necessary signature by coin, this form is deposited under the health department of Zilla Panchayat and from there this assistance is sanctioned and this money is provided as financial assistance in direct bank account of the patient every month. Two different types of application forms have been issued by the Government for Scheduled Castes and All Other than Scheduled Castes which are given at the end of the article below. Form filledDownload the form and take a print out, fill in all the necessary information details and attach all the necessary documents to the Zilla Panchayat Health Department. List of documents
In order to avail the benefit under the medical assistance scheme, the patient is required to have the following documents and he is required to attach these documents along with the specimen application form which is as follows
- Attested copy of ration card
- Attested copy of TB card if TB patient
- Income proof (by competent authority) having income below 1,20,000
- Instance of Caste by Competent Authority
- Attested copy of patient’s Aadhaar Card
- Attested copy of LC in case of no caste instance
- Copy of first and last page of patient’s bank passbook
Income limit
The income limit for availing benefits under this scheme is fixed by the Government which is not more than 1,20,000 in rural areas and not more than 1,50,000 in urban areas.
Age limit
There is no age limit for availing the benefits under this medical aid scheme of the government. Any patient suffering from a serious illness like TB leprosy or cancer is eligible for this assistance regardless of age.

Doctor’s certificate
A doctor’s certificate is required from the doctor who administers the medicine or the patient receives the medicine from the hospital or the doctor from which the patient wants it, whether private or government, and is directly under treatment and the government or private hospital from which he wants the medicine to be administered. TB, leprosy or cancer, you will be issued a certificate by the doctor
Here above mentioned necessary documents and doctor’s certificate and specimen of application form collect all these information and patient’s relative can contact the nearest government hospital primary health center or health worker in his village and get this form from him or himself. If you download the form from this article and fill the complete form along with the necessary documents and give this form to the health worker then they will also deposit this form in the health branch at Zilla Panchayat and your financial assistance under this scheme will be started or you can fill this form yourself. If downloaded and filled through the article and the required documents are attached, you can personally approach any government hospital or district panchayat health department and submit your application form and avail this assistance.
The medical assistance scheme is ongoing and the government provides assistance of 500, 800 and 1000 rupees to TB leprosy and cancer patients respectively, until they are directly under treatment and medication, such necessary information is not available to most of the society so they are deprived of this assistance.
